About MJDA

MJDA has been teaching young dancers of the Midlands since 2007. MJDA’s mission is to provide dancers with a comprehensive artistic education that fosters excellence in all forms of dance. Mrs. Jenkins Dance Academy program is designed to help young people see themselves in a more positive light, develop poise, grace, and self-confidence. Classes are divided based on age, ability and experience. All classes are taught by professional instructors with over 10 year experience.

Memorizing choreography and executing complex movements is an excellent exercise for the brain. Dance also teaches skills that help in many aspects of life including: increased focus, greater ability to listen to and follow directions, practice overcoming challenges, and greater ability to express emotion.

Our primary objective is to strengthen self-esteem while helping develop talent in dancers. Our programs foster a can-do attitude in children. As they take on and overcome challenges, they believe more and more in their ability to do hard things.

Dance also helps develop rhythm, coordination and music appreciation. At MJDA, we investigate how quality of movement is determined and created in order to evaluate and appreciate art on a deeper level.

The Best Dance Instructors

Anyone can be a dancer, but not everyone has the skills and aptitude to be an effective dance instructor. There is more to teaching than just choreographing a few dance moves and expecting students to blindly follow suit. It takes a whole lot of gumption to mold awkward beginners into skilled professionals that can proudly showcase their craft to the world.

Variety of Classes

MJDA offers a class for dancers at every level beginning at the tender age of two. Choose from among the following classes and programs: Recreational, Dance Company (Competition Teams), Hip Hop Company, Acrobatics and Tumbling.
